IKO Level 1

First things first! At this level you will practice various skills on land that will transfer to the water for the next level. Skills covered include assessing the wind and the physical location, using the safety systems, managing proper equipment set-up and controlling the trainer kite

In course details:

A1 - Know safe wind directions and conditions for kiting
A2 - Know hazards on a spot
A3 - Set up a trainer kite
A4 - Know the use of safety systems

B1 - Have basic flying skills with trainer kite
B2 - Launch and land the trainer kite with an assistant
B3 - Twist and untwist the lines while flying the kite
B4 - Walk and change directions while flying the kite
B5 - Know the wind window

C1 - Set-up a 4/5 line kite with a full depower system
C2 - Pre-flight check equipment and settings
C3 - In-flight check equipment and settings
C4 - Understand the use of international communication signals
C5 - Launch and land the kite to an assistant and as an assistant - 4/5 line de-power kite

D1- Control the kite hooked into the harness
D2 - Understand the de-power system and usage of safety systems
D3 - Adnanced flying skills with the de-power kite
D4 - Show full control of de-power systems in flight

E1- Pull quick release and activate leash
E2 - Recover the bar and kite
E3 - Self-land
